NYSID 2011 Graduation Ceremony

New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) is pleased to announce that Cheryl Durst, Executive Vice President and CEO of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), will be the keynote speaker at the college’s 2011 commencement ceremonyMs. Durst will also receive the college’s Honorary Doctorate Degree in Fine Arts, along with architect and designer Michael Graves, and artist Michele Oka Doner

The ceremony will be held at The Allen Room, Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center on Broadway at 60th Street, New York City. This year, NYSID is proud to graduate 23 MFA, 9 MPS, 52 BFA, and 61 AAS candidates.

NYSID Green Awards Ceremony May 4th, 2011

For the third year New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) will present the Green Design Awards to acknowledge individuals and businesses who have made outstanding contributions toward advancing the cause of sustainable design. The awards will be presented on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at a cocktail reception from 5:30-7:30 at the Arthur King Satz Auditorium, New York School of Interior Design, 170 East 70th Street, New York City.

The honorary co-chairs for the 2011 Green Design Awards include Assemblymember Jonathan L. Bing, Laurie Kerr, architect, LEED AP, Stephanie Odegard, founder and president of Odegard, Inc., and Jonathan F.P. Rose, president of Jonathan Rose Companies.

Design of Interior Spaces: Perkins+Will

Design of Interior Spaces recognizes the substantial contribution of interior designers, architects, lighting designers, engineer, and other professionals.

At Perkins+Will, sustainable design is a result of a creative and collaborative process that involves all their disciplines. They not only reduce environmental impact, minimize greenhouse gas emissions, reintegrate ecological systems and limit exposure to harmful substances, but are also helping to improve the environment through regenerative design.
